Day 1: Almaty
Welcome to travel in Silk Road Tours 4! When you arrive at the airport, you will be met by our team. The tour will start by learning more about history and development of the Southern capital of Kazakhstan as well as see its main sights. Drive to the most famous Green Bazaar. Being there you will have an opportunity to buy interesting things connected with oriental goods. Don't miss to bargain. The tour will be continued visiting the Panfilov park which is considered to be the oldest park in Almaty as well as see the Zenkov Cathedral. On the route, visit the Memorial of Glory and Eternal Flame, built in honor of brave soldiers, who protected Kazakhstan. We have no doubt you will be impressed on tours. Visit the mountain skating rink in the world - Medeo Gorge. On the route you can see the tallest TV tower - Kok-Tobe hill. Being there you will see the national souvenir shop and buy gifts. Your journey will end by having trip from the top of the hill to the city center along the famous Almaty cableway. Rest is in a night.
Day 2: Almaty - Charyn - Almaty
In the morning you will drive to Charyn Canyon by car. Our company will provide you by 1,5L of bottled water on the tour. It is allowed to take some snacks with you on a tour. The road will take 4 hours. On the wat, you will visit the local museum of traditional decorative and applied arts and crafts. Charyn Canyon will impress you by panorama views and the unique nature. Walking 2 miles via the Castle Valley labyrinth you will find amazing shapes of landscape. Icy cold Charyn River will amaze you. Here you will find an eco-park with a few yurts are traditional dwellings of nomads as well as a small open air cafe working in summer. Afterwards, we will back to the city. Night is in a hotel.
Day 3: Almaty - Issyk - Almaty
We are glad to present the next day our tour where you can visit gorges as Trans-Ili Alatau - Issyk Gorge, located along the Kuldja tract, where caravans travelled there many years ago. The guide will share some information about this area. You will see Sakas mounds as well as the "Golden man", which is nowadays became a state symbol of Kazakhstan. Later on, you can visit the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "ISSYK" and see remains of Sakas period's history and culture, traces of of Golden Man and golden items, ancient ceramics, weapon, horse equipment, and the sample of Saka burial mound. We will go on the1756 meters high and see the wonderful alpine lake Issyk, located in the Issyk Valley. The lake has story of 10,000 years and appeared due to mudslide which opened the natural dam. You will enjoy the incredible beauty of gorge's waters. Today you will spend night in the hotel.
Day 4: Almaty - BAO - Almaty - Bishkek
The driver will transfer you to the Big Almaty gorge to the altitude of 2,510 m above sea where you can see the Big Almaty lake in Trans-Ili Alatau. The sacred beauty of blue lake will catch your attention and you will want to take vibrant photos. Its waters are rather cool and does not exceed 10 degrees. The access there is under government, since it is a source of drinking water for Almaty. At an altitude of 3300 meters above sea level, you will see scientific facilities for astronomical and space research as well as magnificent panorama of mountains. In addition, you will find Tien Shan fir trees, aspen and junipers growing there. Afterwards, we will travel in Bishkek at 15:00. The road will take 4 hours. Rest is in a hotel.
Day 5: Bishkek - Burana - Issyk Kul northern shore
Welcome to Bishkek! Today you will have a city tour and visit the Pobeda Square (Victory Square), Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Central Ala-Too Square, Old Square, National Philharmonic and many other. Afterwards, we will drive to Issyk Kul Lake. It is the largest mountainous lake with altitude 1608 meters above sea level and surrounded by mountains. We have no doubts you will be impressed. Also, you will visit Burana Tower, found in the 11th century as well as an open air museum of Balbals or so called stone warriors. Your night will be spent in a hotel.
Day 6: Issyk Kul - Grigorievskoye - Semenovskoye - Karakol
The day will start by travelling to the amazing gorges as Semenovskoye and Grigorievskoye. For sure you will be impressed by national park and take stunning photos. The land of places is covered by green forest. Then we will a tour to Karakola and see the Dungan mosque. The site was built without nails and has Chinese style and wooden Orthodox Church near Dungan mosque. Rest is in a guesthouse.
Day 7: Karakol - Jeti Oguz - Issyk Kul southern shore - Bishkek
We are glad to present the next destination of our tour where you will visit Jeti Oguz gorge. Here you will see seven rocks situated in a row. In addition, you can see the Mountain of Broken Hearts. In order to see beautiful panorama view, you need to spend 20 minutes. Then, we will travel to Bokonvaeva village and meet with an eagle hunter. He will show you an eagle show. After that you can take photos with birds. In the end, we will back to Bishkek. Rest is in a hotel.
Day 8: Bishkek - Osh - Guliston - Khudjand
In Silk Road Tours 4, you will have flight to Osh city and then to Tajik border. You will pass by Batken region, where you can see apricot trees and bright flower - Aigul. After that, you will be met by Tajik driver who drive you to Khujand city. You will pass by the Anzob pass of 3 372 meters high and see a breathtaking panoramic view. Khuldjand is located on the Syr Darya River at the Fergana Valley. It is the second largest city in Tajikistan, nowadays Soghd with population of 149,000. On arrival, you will the Cultural Palace of Khujant. The first president of Tajikistan was chosen there. See the Central Mosque as well as near. Night is in a hotel.
Day 9: Khudjand - Iskanderkul Lake
After breakfast, we will drive to Iskanderkul Lake. The lake is situated at the altitude of 2 255 meters above sea level, known as Mountain - Fann. You will have rest on the beach and see outstanding waterfall, spending 40 minutes. Tajikistan is well-known for its water resources and has the highest pointers on water resources in Central Asia of more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers. Overnight is in guesthouse.
Day 10: Iskanderkul - 7 lakes - Penjakent
Paying attention to the Fann mountains, you will have an opportunity to have short hiking tour. The mountain is located on the highest level and has different shapes. On the way you will meet with locals. We will drive to Penjakent. This place or five villages is located at Khujand region in Zeravshan river valley. This village appeared in 5th - 8th centuries AD and had most important cultural and crafts centers of Sogd and called "Central Asian Pompeii". On the tour, you will see the city with a ruler's palace, two temples, markets, rich residential buildings, decorated with numerous paintings, wooden and clay statues of ancient gods, but ruins were found later. In addition, you will find the residential buildings and office buildings, a citadel with a palace, a house of craftsmen and a church of fire worshipers. Night is in a local guesthouse.
Day 11: Penjakent - Jartepo - Samarkand
The tour will start by travelling to Samarkand. This city is located in the valley of the river Zerafshan and considered to be the second largest city of Uzbekistan as Babylon or Rome. For a city tour, you can visit the Registan square, Shakhi-Zindeh, Mausoleum Guri Emir and Bibi Khanum Mosque. Registan Square consists of three Madrasahs (15-17th centuries) and defined to be one of the most significant sites of Samarkand. Shakhi Zindeh has rich collection of mausoleums belonging to the 11th-15th centuries, which later became a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bibi Khanum Mosque was dedicated to the beloved wife of Tamerlane after his trip from India. Night will be spent in cozy hotel.
Day 12: Samarkand - Gijduvan - Bukhara
After having a hearty breakfast, we will travel to Bukhara. On the way, you will visit pottery private school belonging to Narzullayevs family of 6th generation of Gijduvan school ceramics. This skill passed from family to family. You will be impressed by geometric patterns of blue and green colors. Drive to the memorial complex of Al Bukhary- Islamic School who bent a collection of hadiths known as Sahih Al-Bukhari, where Sunni Muslims contemplate one of the most authentic collections of hadiths. We will continue our way to Bukhara. Overnight is in a hotel.
Day 13: Bukhara
Today you will have a city tour. First visit the Citadel Ark of 4th century. It collaborated palaces of several dynasties of Bukhara Empire. See the mausoleum of Samanids as a wonderful work of architecture of the IX-X centuries. Continue to Chashma Ayub or the Job's well and Bolo-Hauz Mosque. You will see the forty-column mosque, dedicated to Bukhara governor Abu Fayyud Khan. On the way you will see shops, where you can buy gifts. Then visit the famous madrassas- Nodir Divan Run, being a part of the Lyabi House ensemble. In the evening you can visit the Poi Kalon complex which has three structures built in the 12th-16th centuries as the Kalon minaret, the Kalon mosque and the Mir-Arab madrasah. Day 14: Bukhara - Khiva
The next destination of our tour is Khiva, which is also known as "town museum" found in the Middle Ages. It has more than 140 architectural monuments. You will be delighted by beautiful streets, green parks and gardens, where you can see historical and architectural monuments of past times. You will pass by the famous Kizilkum desert and see amazing views of the Amu Darya River. It is the deepest river in Central Asia, formed by Pyanj and Vakhsh rivers in Tajikistan and flows into the Aral Sea. On arrival in Khiva you will rest in a hotel.
Day 15: Khiva
Being in Khiva you will enjoy sightseeing of oldest city in Uzbekistan. Mentioning Ichan-Qala or inner city of Khiva, it has strong walls. You will find ancient sound buildings, palaces, mosques, Madrasahs, Mausoleums, Minarets, Caravan-Sarais and Bathhouses that made Ichan-Qala into wonderful city-monument. There are over 400 traditional dwelling houses and about 60 architectural monuments in Ichan-Qala. In 1969 it became historical and architectural conservation. You will see the greatest examples of Kunya-Ark fortress of 17th century, opened by Muhammad Arang Khan and Kalta Minor minaret, and Tash Khouvli palace. All of them are national heritage of Khorezm architecture since 200 years ago. Overnight is in a hotel.
Day 16: Khiva - Farap - Kunya Urgench - Darwaza
Having a hearty breakfast, you will be transferred to Farap border. You will be met by our team who accompany you to the North of Turkmenistan. On arrival, you will see the architectural monuments of Kone Urgench, before it was Capital of Khorezm in the X-XII centuries. In addition, you can visit the Mausoleum of Najm al-Din al-Kubra, Tyurabek Khanum, Il-Arslan, Tekesh Ibn Hadzhibey, as well as Kutlyg-Timur. Afterwards, you will drive to Darwaza (Gas Crater). Night is in tents.
Day 17: Darwaza - Ashgabat
Being in Darwaza, you will have rest in tents and then horse riding with Turkmen Akhal-Teke horses. Afterwards you will have the Traditional Tea party. On the way you will learn more about Turkmen lifestyle. Afterwards, you will go back to Ashgabat. We have no doubts you will fall in love on such tours. Night is in a hotel.
Day 18: Ashgabat - Mary - Ashgabat
Today we will travel to ancient city Mary, which is under protection of UNESCO World Heritage Site. The site is located in 2.5 km to the east of Mary, to Bayram-Ali. It is the main archaeological places of Central Asia and the Great Silk Road for more than 2000 years. It takes an area of 1200 ha. Travelers will enjoy the "wandering city" and visit old Mausoleums of the Sultan, Sanjar and Muhammed Ibn-Zeid (XII c), demonstrations advanced Seljuk brickwork and architectural decor. In addition, you will see the rich flora and fauna of Karakum desert. Drive back to Ashgabat. Night is in a hotel.
Day 19: Ashgabat
The last day of your tour is dedicated of sightseeing of Ashgabat. Learn more about "Niva". Before it was the Capital of the Parthian Empire and nowadays it is under protection of UNESCO Heritage. Continue tour visiting the Monument and Park of Independence, the same as a white-marble "Eiffel Tower", it is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of independence. You will see the sculptural portrayal of ten Akhal-Tekke horses erected on the top of a fountain. See the sacred Ertoghrul Ghazi and Gypjak Mosques as well as the National Museum of History and Ethnography. Today you will spend night in a cozy hotel.
