In Kyrgyzstan there is a natural forest Arslanbob that stretches over 6,080 km2. In order to visit the forest it is necessary to go to the north of the region of Jalal Abad. And in 80 km of the region in Kyrgyzstan, Arslanbob may be found. It is famous for walnuts growing here. At the same time there are legends of emergence of the forest: according to one legend, Alexander Macedonian travelled with his warriors here, coming back from the trip to the east. Leaving this amazing site he took fruits and nuts from local forests. And this is the way nuts from Kyrgyzstan emerged in Greece and became known as walnut. The other legend tells that there was a warrior who died not far from the forest in the 11th century, as he was sold down the river by his wife. These places are said to still bear prints of his hands. Also the other legend tells that there was a decent man, whom the Prophet Muhammad said to find the most amazing and comfortable place for paradise in the world. This man was travelling along Kyrgyzstan and found picturesque valley with foaming mountain stream but there were no trees there. Amazed by the story of the man the prophet gave him seeds of different trees. The man vaulted the tops of the mountain and dispersed seeds creating the huge garden-forest of the future.
Trees of the forest over 1000 years old and may be 30 m high. Every year about half thousand tons of walnut may be gathered in the forest. Picturesque Big and Small waterfalls of a height of 80 and 35 m may be visited in the course of a tour in Kyrgyzstan at the altitude of 2200 m above sea level. This place is also a home for sacred and mysterious lake Kel-Mazar and Mount Babash-Ata. A lot of people travel in Kyrgyzstan in order to make a pilgrimage annually.
