Explore really wild places in the heavenly mountains of Kyrgyzstan! We want to present you a biking tour, which routes will be along untouched mountain gorges where it is still possible to meet genuine nomads. It is a perfect chance to feel the nature, because you will cycle in places that are so far from the civilization. During your adventure you will see yurts - nomadic felt dwellings, which are very unique and their owners will invite you for a cup of tea or kymis (traditional Kyrgyz drink).
Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek
You will be collected by your guide from Manas International Airport and accompanied to Bishkek (the capital of Kyrgyzstan). The drive from the Airport will take half an hour. After accommodation in the hotel*** that is located in a calm area of the city you will have a rest and then start the day with a breakfast. After that you will have an excursion to Ala-Archa Natural Park that is situated on the Kyrgyz ridge (a spur of Tien-Shan), 45 km south Bishkek, in the Ala-Arch Gorge. To have a nice view of this famous gorge you will go on the top of a mountain. Drive back to Bishkek. At 7 p.m. traditional dinner will be served. Overnight stay is in the hotel***.
Transfer from Bishkek City over the Kurtka Pass (3243m. alt.) to the 2nd biggest lake in Kyrgyz Republic - Son Kul. Son Kul Lake is the highest alpine lake in Kyrgyzstan that is situated at the altitude of 3016 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by the mountains. Shepherds of the Naryn region come to the lake to use it as grassland. The Kyrgyz nomads with their families started to come to this wonderful area for relaxation and rest. The first part of cycling to the gorge entrance is with a slight descent and easy. We will enter a narrow gorge with high sharp rock walls, in some places up to 200 meters through a narrow spot. Here a steep ascent to the pass begins. The descent is easier and shorter. You will be free to explore and enjoy the virgin nature of Son Kul Lake and its environs upon our arrival. Dinner. Overnight stay (3016 m. alt.) is in the collapsible nomadic abodes - yurts. Yurt is made of a wooden carcass, covered with thin felt mats.
Day 3: Son Kul Lake
Today you will have an excellent chance to explore Son Kul nature and lifestyle of the local nomads on your own. On a horse you can ride along the lake's shore or just relax in calm and wild atmosphere. It is a great chance to familiarize with nomadic mores and way of life. We will walk among the Mountains of Tian-Shan where every nomad invites you to his yurt to taste a piece of bread and national staple drink made of mare's milk - kumiss. You will spend this night in the tent camp.
Day 4: Ride Son Kul lake - Kyzyl Korgon canyon (80km)
After the breakfast we will ride in direction of the holy stones with ancient stone inscriptions (dating back to 800 B.C.). Afterwards we will leave Son Kul and will ride to the Djumgal valley through Kara Keche pass (3381m). It is a region of high mountains, snow peaks, rocks, red canyons. Walking in the Red Canyons. Overnight is in tents.
Day 5: Ride Kyzyl Korgon - Kyrk-Kyz Pass 3223m
This day we will pass near the Kyzyl Oi (red canyon) village. En route we will see the rocks of different colors, panoramas and summer pastures. This place always impresses travelers and all of them want to come back there one more time. Kyzyl Oi is a small poor village in the mountains. You will have time to walk there and to see the life of the Kyrgyz people in the country side. You will see our famous red canyons that are completely different from other mountains in Kyrgyzstan, on the way to the village. Overnight stay is in the tents.
Day 6: Ride Kyrk-Kyz Pass - Ter Jailak Pass 2446m - Toluk Village (50km)
Today, our cycling will be difficult enough. On our way we will meet many Kyrgyz herdsmen on their summer pastures. The Kyrgyz nomads always glad to talk with foreign guests and are very hospitable. You could see their felt dwellings and ask them about their life. Even these days they come to this place and you can see how they live here. It will be also possible to try national drink kymis that has really specific taste. Kymis is made of fermented mare's milk. Overnight stay is in tents.
Day 7: Ride and transfer to the Toktogul Village
We will start cycling after breakfast. Our driver will drive behind us. The road has an abundance of unbelievable views and you will never forget them. There it becomes clear that the best creation on our planet is natural world. Lunch. Drive to the village where we can take a shower or drive to the artificial lake. Free time for leisure. Night is in the home stay.
Day 8: Transfer to Bishkek city
We will drive in the morning to Bishkek. Through the views of the untouched nature you will be carried away by the amazing sceneries. Upon arrival in Bishkek you will have free time to go for shopping and to walk. At 8 o'clock in the evening you will have a dinner in a café. You will spend this night in the hotel***.
Day 9: Bishkek
This morning starts with guided city tour. This city tour concludes the visiting of many interesting sights, such as: Ala-Too Central Square, Oak Park (Duboviy Park), Victory Square (Pobeda Square), the Museum of the Kyrgyz History, National Concert Hall, and the Museum of Fine Arts. Afterwards we will visit famous Osh Bazaar. You will walk there and bargain for different goods. At 7 o'clock in the evening a farewell dinner will be served. Overnight is in the hotel***.
Day 10: Transfer to the airport
At the time arranged beforehand according to the detail of your flight your guide will collect you from your hotel and accompany you to the International Airport of Manas.
