Day 1: Almaty - Kaindy Lake - Saty
Welcome to Kazakh Tour 7! Guide will meet and accompany you to Kolsai Lakes. During the way you will have a stop at the local market of the village. After witness the interesting goods there you will change your car to "UAZ" or "PAZ". On it you will comfortably reach Kaindy Lake the road to which takes 12 km. This lake is also known as the Birch lake. You will find it among the fabulous forest on the altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. The tours to this site are popular due to its origin. It was formed because of the powerful earthquake that triggered the landslide blocked the valley in 1911. The water of the lake is crystal clear and very cold. Due to it you will be able to see the needles of the tress that were preserved under the water. This trees resemble masts of the submarine squadron. Overnight is in the guest house.
Day 2: Kolsai Lakes - Saty
In course of the tour you will travel to Kolsai Lakes. This sight is also known as the "Pearls of the Northern Tien-Shan" that looks like a cascade of three lakes. The largest one is easily to reach due to it this lake is accessible for all visitors. Here you will be able to enjoy the lake of civilization where you can find many mushrooms. Vertical drop between the three lakes is about 700 meters. It is important to note that to reach the highest lakes you need to have a hike tour. The highest lake is also smallest one but here you will have an opportunity to see road that will go through the pine forest, alpine meadows along pure mountain river flowing all the way down from Kolsai-2 Lake. Distance between two lakes is about 7 km and usually takes 3-3, 5 hours one way. After exploring these lakes you will return to Saty settlement. Arrival to the settlement. Overnight is in the guest house.
Day 3: Saty - Charyn Canyon -Almaty
Today your Kazakh Tour 7 will go to the famous Charyn Canyon. You will spend 2 hours to reach this site. During the drive you will be able to visit the local museum of traditional decorative and applied arts and crafts. After arriving to Charyn Canyon you will be able to witness the breathtaking panorama view. After it you will head on to the bottom of it where you will explore the famous Castles Valley that is made of walls of fancy shapes. At the end you will see the fresh oasis on the bank of cold Charyn river. Here you will be able to see the eco-park with several yurts (traditional dwellings) and a small open air café that you can meet only in summer. After it you will head back to the car that will transfer you to see another magnificent panoramic view. Return to the city. The night is in the hotel.
Day 4: Almaty - Issyk lake- Almaty
In course of the tour you will travel to Issyk Gorge Trans-Ili Alatau. This gorge lays along the Kuldja tract that is interesting due to the endless trading caravans that travelled here. On the way to it you will have excursion the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "ISSYK". Here you will observe the expositions of the history and culture of the Saka period such as a copy of Golden Man and golden items, ancient ceramics, weapon, elements of horse equipment, as well as the model of Saka burial mound. After it you will be transferred to the sight that is situated on the altitude of 1756 meters above sea level. Here you will be able to enjoy the magnificent alpine lake Issyk. You will be captivated by the fabulous view of the water surface and the Issyk Gorge. In addition you will be informed about the details of the natural disaster of 1963. Transfer to the hotel for overnight.
Day 5: Almaty
Today you will start your city tour with visiting the Almaty Museum that will show you the historical background of the southern capital of Kazakhstan. Next sight is the Abai Opera and Ballet Theatre that will mesmerize you with its beauty. Then is the Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen that is also known as one of the oldest parks and wonderful building that is known as the Zenkov Cathedral. You will visit the Memorial of Glory and Eternal Flameas well as the Museum of Musical Instruments. Don't miss the chance to see in tours the Green Bazaar that popular even among local people. Later on you will travel to the famous the Medeo Gorge that is located on the altitude of 1690 meters above sea level. Here you will be able to witness the highest mountain skating rink in the world as well as the dam that is protecting the city. In course of this tour you will be able to visit the Shymbulak ski resort area. While reaching the 1st level of this ski resort you will witness picturesque scenery of fur-trees on the altitude of 2260 meters above sea level. The tour ends with the ride on Almaty cableway*. On Tuesdays, in the tour departing at 10:00, cableway is not available. Park eco-cars are used instead. Night is in the hotel.
