Armenia tour

Today guests of Armenia arrive at the airport of Yerevan, for taking the city tour. For the beginning it is better to check in the hotel and then start a way along the very center of the city. Yerevan is known to be the principal city, so that it is found at the height of 900-1300m above sea level. At the same time it is said to be the largest city of the whole country. Along with being the largest, it is the center of cultural and scientific life. Also the capital is seen to be located at the north-east of the Ararat plain. It is peculiar for being surrounded by the Caucasus Mountains. The capital opens us the way to immerse in ancient history, starting approximately in 8^th century BC. It is rather far long. Then guests have dinner in traditional style in the restaurant, listening to music. Night is spent in the hotel.

 

Day 2: Yerevan - Echmiadzin - Yerevan

Now starts the day of getting to the walk along all of the corners of the capital that is why guests get to the restaurant Victory Park first. It has a special deck from where we can observe many sites. Like the Cascade. It is the ancient, but exceptional museum on the open air, where we can have a look at the modern art. For the next destination guests have a way to the Opera and Ballet Theater and Sergei Parajanov Museum. These are the sites necessary to be seen. Further the route is made to the Echmiadzin city. It is the center of religion of the people of Armenia. Right here we are able to see the Church of St. Hripsime, emerged in the 7^th century and the Mother See Cathedral of St. Echmiadzin of course. Making a way here we are able to have a stop for rest and investigation at Machanents Creative Center. Later the visitors get acquainted with the sculptor Kochar - Sasuntsi David, who is famous in the country for his works. Further guests have a chance to visit the famous building, bearing historical meaning. This is the museum of the "Megerian Carpet" factory. Right here we can notice carpets of the past times, of about 400 years old. For the desire of guests we can offer the opportunity to try the creation of carpets, as local craftsmen will give lessons. In the evening there visitors have a walk along the Northern Avenue to see the singing fountains. These singing fountains are located at the Republic Square. Night is offered in the hotel.

 

Our team is happy to give a chance to wander along the Ararat valley, but after the guests had breakfast and left the hotel. This way leads to the Khor Virap monastery. This is the place of religious meaning, as right here the history of Christianity adoption of the country started. All these events happened in the 4^th century. Having the trip at the location, foreigners have a look at the Mount Ararat. This view is breath-taking, so that then guests have a view of Khor Virap. For the next point of the trip, boarders get to the Areni village, located in the region of Vayots Dzor. Today it is said to be the main place of the country, dealing with winemaking. It appeared long time ago, so that history tells that about 6000 years ago, this deal was established. Locals have proofs of it as they have found them in the Areni village caves. The steps of the past centuries are found in this cave in September 2008. Noravank monastery is also visited today, and it is known to be created in the 13^th century. It is basically located among the rocks of red color of incredibly amazing gorge. Here we have rest and then drive to the Goris. Here guests have a walk and then have night in the hotel.

 

Having breakfast in Goris, guests drive to the Zorats Karer (Karahunj), and rather fascinating place. It is going to be identified as the main ancient location, being the megalithic complex. This complex is located at the height of 1770 m. having the way along the road to it, boarders see the monoliths of dark-brown color. About the 6th millennium BC, Karahunj has been considered to be the center of observations. There are many holes in the wall, so that guests can see the sky map of the past times, known to be created 7.5 thousand years ago. We have a desire to show the pearl of medieval constructions of the past times. Being here there is an opportunity to have a drive along the cable car, being the longest one. It is laid to the 320m deep Vorotan gorge. Then guests have lunch and take a way to Yeghegis. Night is offered there.

 

We wander at the heights usually and today the way is made along 2500 m high.  Being at the Selim Pass everyone can notice the amazing view of the territory. Then the trip is organized to Lake Sevan. This lake is greatly important for the local people, so that they call it the treasure of the country.   Today this lake is identified as the largest lake, being filled with fresh water. Today we get to the top of 1900m for seeing this lake. At that time guests have a chance to taste cheese, wine and cognac. As later we start for the Ayrivank and Noradus Monasteries. You are guests here and today the famous Chef is going to give the master class in Tsaghkunk. Seeing the other places, attention is paid to the Sevanavank Monastery. It was created in 874, by Princess Mariam. At the same time it is located at the cape, giving the view of amazing lake, located in the very mountains. Later the tour is made to the Dilijan town. It is famous for the trees covering the territory, fresh air. Today it is possible to make a way along this town and immerse in the ancient atmosphere of the 19^th century. Night is offered in the hotel.

 

In the morning we offer nice breakfast with coffee and then take a way to the Lori region. This day we would like to show some important sites, like medieval monasteries of Sanahin and Haghpat. These are the locations of UNESCO World Heritage List. Today such monasteries take the leading point in the view of education and science. Basically it happened so in the medieval times of the country. Despite architecture, our team has a chance to show the Debed River and its mountain canyons, as well as small villages. Far along we drive to Gyumri. It is known as the center of culture of the country, where the museum of history and culture can be seen. It is the home of five churches, well-visited monastery and Orthodox chapel. Right here we can witness one of the most amazing chapels, the Amenaprkich Church also known as Church of the Savior. In the Gvug gastro-yard we have dinner and spend the night in the hotel.

 

Today the route is made to the Museum of Crafts and Frunzik Mkrtchyan, also identified as Sev Berd while we stroll along Gyumri. In the Cherkezi Dzor restaurant guests have lunch for the furethr way to Yerevan. Today we pass the Mount Aragats, the Saghmosavank Monastery (Psalm Monastery). The latter one is located at the gorge of the Kasakh River. There will be a chance to see the wall of Armenian alphabet letters. It was created in 2005, as locals celebrated the 1600th anniversary of creation of the alphabet. Here the view of the canyon and monastery can be opened. Night is spent in the hotel of Yerevan.

 

Our tour is made to the Azat River and its canyon. Here we are going to see the famous Geghard, the13th century rocky monastery. It is seen to be at UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here we can notice the complex being rocky completely. Later the Garni village is visited and it seems to have the famous place, the Symphony of Stones and a pagan temple. The latter one was created in the Hellenistic style. Basically this village appeared 77AD. Lunch is offered in the traditional style, in the local residence. Having found ourselves in Yerevan, we visit the Yerevan Brandy Factory and ARARAT Museum where we can get acquainted with the craftsmanship and brandy business. Hotel is offered for the night.
